These are our sanctuary dogs who will forever call CHR their home unless that special family comes along who can work with their needs. Their stories are unique, just like each of them.

Bear

Bear was caught as a stay after 3 months of tracking and over 300 miles traveled. He remains at CHR. He is timid and shy and is a huge flight risk.

Tanner

Tanner came to us as 1 of 8 dogs from a hoarding case that another rescue had taken but did not have the appropriate fosters for them. They were all going to be euthanized. We were asked to take them and see what we could do. Tanner takes a long to gain his trust. He does not want to be touched.

Nicholas

Nick is another from the hoarding case. He is about 3 years old. Nick is very timid and seems bonded with Jeffrey. They with a quiet patient home might come out of their shell.

Christopher

Christopher is a funny little guy. He is also 3 years old. He will jump and paw at you to pay attention to him. He nudges you but he does not want you to pet him. I am just now able to scratch him under his chin without him running away.

Trisha

Trisha is 3.5 years old and scared to death of about everything. She will not let people approach her. She will take food out of your hand but on her terms. She will now seek us out during storms or fireworks but do not try to touch her. She will sleep in our bed but darts if she thinks your getting to close.

Regan

Regan was caught with Ben. They have been with us for 5 years now. Ben is funny and vocal. He loves treats. He will not allow you to put a collar or leash on him. He likes to do what he wants to do.

Asher

Asher is the final one of the 8 untouchables. He is one that you can pet sometimes and may warm up to his person in the right home. We almost lost him during his neuter. He had a bad reaction to the anesthesia.
