Fundraiser for a diabetic alert dog that was viciously attacked by 3 dogs and their owner.

Mercilessly mauled, this emotional support dog was simply trying to take her morning walk. Now unable to move, Lily was gravely injured by her aggressors and fighting for her life. The next few days will be crucial in her recovery and standing chance for a successful future.

Lily is a 1-Year-Old Great Dane mix that is incredibly loved by her family, and most importantly her companion to the family's young daughter. She is an emotional support dog trained to help their daughter fight her own battle with juvenile diabetes. Together they are one and dedicated to each other. Lily is crucial in their daughters' life, as she alerts her when a diabetic episode is coming and lies with her when the daughter fights through them. Now, with Lily battling to survive, the family is completely distraught and heartbroken over the emerging details of the attack. Lily is trained, but she is still a puppy and is let out in the morning and afternoon to run. While on her morning run and playtime, in her own yard-- everyone thought she was safe.

Sadly, Lily did not expect what was coming next as she wandered along her family's property line, watching oncoming pups walk up the road. The family's yard was separated by a road when suddenly three dogs and their owner started to cross the street toward this playful pup. Curiously kind and gentle, Lily approached and without another moment passing the dogs quickly began to attack her. The vicious attack only worsened as the owner, likely intentionally beat Lily's two front legs. Left to suffer from her horrible wounds, and unable to walk, this poor dane puppy was left on in her yard to struggle home. Thankfully the locals recognized the poor girl and rushed to her aid.

The family was notified quickly as Lily was fading fast. She is riddled with puncture wounds and her legs were raw, swollen, and bloody. When they arrived at the vet's, all the wounds were thoroughly cleaned, and x-rays were taken to determine the extent of the damage. Vets were horrified when they realized that this ill-hearted human likely beat her front legs with a large, dense, thick stick or metal pole. The pain she must have endured and the trauma from this brutal beating. The family did not hesitate to agree to surgery to give Lily the best chance to walk again.

It was a long and grueling surgery for the family to wait through, but all are hopeful. Right now Lily is resting with her best friend by her side. Only time will tell how her legs are healing up, and she has multiple appointments in the future to ensure the most successful recovery. Please consider donating to help Lily and their family in this difficult time– if you can $1 or $5 goes a long way. The family has paid over $5,131.00 in veterinary bills and that does not include upcoming potential surgeries and follow-up appointments. The family bravely did what most of us are afraid to do-- ask for help. So let's show them we can help, they have support, and they are loved. Together we can make a difference. Please consider being one of the helping hands Lily and her family need right now and donate to her life-saving care.
